Martina Alyce Alaniz
Martina graduated from Central College in 2006 with a degree in Theatre and English. An accidental theatre major, she explored the opportunities of backstage, including costume design, make-up, and directing and appeared on stage only once as Joe in Lee Blessing’s Independence. While at Central, Martina directed Token for the Moon, Buddha, co-directed The Little Hero of Holland, and directed Steven Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile as a part of the main season. After graduating, Martina spent a year in Brownsville, Texas, where she taught middle school English at Guadalupe Regional Middle School, a non-profit private school for underprivileged students. Returning to Iowa in 2007, she served as the assistant drama director at Lynnville Sully for 2007/2008. She became a member of RTI in 2008 and now serves as a rehearsal assistant, stage manager, and tech for the company.
